Travelling tips to save the day 7, Hats, flight, money

Money and currency.

It is always good to take local currency with you before you leave and do not rely on cards, try to buy your currency locally from your house rather than the airport or overseas and again if you split the currency in two different bags or different pockets then you haven't got all your money in one basket, When buying your currency locally to where you live you will find that it will be genuine currency As if you change the currency overseas you won't know what it looks like and how it feels and you will just accept what you are given  and if it turns out to be fake then it will ruin your holiday.

Hats and head wear

It is always a good idea to carry a lightweight foldable hat or headwear in your bag as quite often the sun can can be hot and bright and if you don't get time to put on your sun cream then a hat can save you while you in the queue. There's nothing worse than you feel the Sun burning in the back, neck and ears and you can't do much about it but just pop it out pop it on and then you covered.

Your boarding pass.

It is always a good idea to make a note of your boarding pass as soon as you step off the plane because if your flight is delayed or something should happen then you need that boarding pass to claim compensation and again it's good to take a photograph of it on your phone as well, never throw it away and always keep it just until you get home because a booking is not the same as a boarding pass a boarding pass confirms that you did board that plane. Another good thing to do is to book your seat on line 24 hours before you fly and to choose a seat that you wish to have, then at least you know you guaranteed the seat next to the window for example or even better an exit seat. Not all Airlines allowed to book online Your Seats but it's well worth checking well in advance they do and also get to the airport early and check in early and ask for the seat that you require. Another good point I will mention now is your boarding pass will be good proof for example if you wish to claim back tax in your country or if you're self-employed.

I have had a few people that have lost a passport while they have been at the airport and never find out where it went so don't think that just because you had it when you went to the airport that you're going to have it throughout the airport keep it safe and keep a copy of it because you don't want to be not allowed on the plane because you've lost your passport.

Some Airlines now allow you to have an electronic boarding pass on your phone So check to see whether there's an app available for your airline so that you can have your boarding pass put on your phone electronically and just show your phone at the security. You can also have a copy of your passport and your ticket so that's all in one place again on your phone also make a note of your travel agents telephone number and email address just in case you got problems at the airport then  you know who to call while you're there, I got caught out once when my travel agent forgot to book my visa to Australia and I was nearly not allowed to go on the flight but had to pay for a new one there and then, when I got to Hong Kong i  email them and they confirmed they forgot to book it and refunded me the money.
